The Golf Section hosted the 35th Spring Cup at Villarceaux on Saturday 30th May. Standard Athletic Club members acquitted themselves very well, including the best score of the day from Jeanne Delacroix with a fabulous 46 points!

The Golf Section hosted the 35th Spring Cup at Villarceaux on Saturday 30th May. 75 players in total took part. We were very fortunate to have good weather on the day, and the prize giving took place on the terrace at Villarceaux in beautiful sunshine. Standard Athletic Club members acquitted themselves very well on the day:

Jeanne Delacroix had the best net score overall and won the second series ladies first prize with a fabulous 46 stableford points score. Mary-Beth Kemp closely followed Jeanne on 40 points. 

Our own Monica Greenwood and Joyce Jacques were not far behind, meaning that our section members took 4 of the top 5 ladies in the second series

In the first ladies’ series, Sue Hall was second, both gross and net, despite her 1 birdie and 9 pars. The competition was clearly very tough!

Among the men, John Greenwood came 1st in the third series, Alex Murphy was second in the 1st series, and John McCallum was third in the second series

Ian Jones won the men’s closest the pin prize on the 9th hole.
